Run by Davina (English) and Hannes (Austrian) the centre lies in the middle of the 2km long, sandy Kouremenos Beach. The centre is built to allow a lot of wind protection for the non-surfers and families and there are a number of trees surrounding the beach, which provide excellent shade. Other facilities include a shower, small windsurf shop and a restaurant / café a short walk down the beach.
The entrance to the sea is marked with buoys and beginners will easily and safely be able to practice around this area. A constant look-out and safety boat ensures maximum safety and confidence for all levels.
Freak Surf Station offers the latest and best equipment from JP boards and Neil Pryde sails. There are 60 JP boards and 120 Neil Pryde sails. Beginner’s course will take place on specialized beginner’s equipment and a maximum of 5 people in any session. Intermediate & advanced ‘step courses’ (3 hours practice and 1 hour theory) stretches over 2-3 days and taken with Chris Stammer (age 25) from Austria. Chris has been World Cup Freestyle windsurfer since 1999 achieving 2nd place at the European Freestyle Tours in 2003 !
