Club Mistral is one of our most highly respected partners. Nowhere else will you find such consistently high levels of service, professionalism and equipment! With 18 windsurfing, 11 kitesurfing and 5 surfboard riding centres worldwide, they are one of the leading companies in this industry. Club Mistral has two bases in Tarifa. The centre at Rancho Valdevaqueros is right on the large sandy beach of Casa de Porro (Las Dunas) where the wind is often strongest. Launching is straight-forward in both levante and poniente winds, and the protected bay provides optimum conditions for all skill levels. The shore break can be stronger in autumn if the wind is onshore. It is only a short walk from Hotel 100% Fun and is stocked with the latest Mistral boards and North rigs. The centre closes from November to March.

The other centre is at the Hurricane Hotel which is a couple of kilometres towards town. The water here is flat to choppy in summer, with biggish waves (2 metres) from autumn to spring. There is a shore break when the wind is onshore. The wind here is shadowed for the first 50 metres, but after that sailing in the levante is superb. Depending on the tide, there may be stones/rocks when launching and exiting. There are no rocks or reefs further out. The centre is open all year, with rental only in January and February.
